PRODUCTION

We produce extruded profiles and seals in thermoplastic and magnetic materials, using the most advanced equipment and innovative materials.
We put all of our thirty years’ experience in timing, technical assistance and meticulous control of the productive cycle into every product we make.

All of Tràfilo’s production processes are optimised according to the DNV standard of excellence with Uni En Iso 9001:2015 certification.
The wide range of shapes, thicknesses, lengths, colours and materials we work with enables us to produce countless varieties of extruded plastic products that can be used in a whole range of industrial sectors.

At Tràfilo we have organised our workforce in the way that their individual skills can be combined to achieve the best results.
We have subdivided production into three units: magnetic seals, rigid calibrated and soft seals.
Each production unit has its own specific technology, managed by a specialised technician.

We are able to produce almost an unlimited range of products in both shape and appearance. Infact, our extrusion lines have a high hourly productive capacity but they differ according to the production types: properties and dimensions of the products.
The weight of our extruded plastic products varies from 20 g/m to 2 kg/m.

EXTRUSION AND CO-EXTRUSION

Extrusion is one of the main ways of processing plastic materials and consists in the fusion of a polymer across a spinneret which determines its geometry. It is placed into cooling tanks and solidifies. The raw material takes on a different shape from the original without losing its technical properties.

Co-extrusion is a variant of extrusion in which different chemically compatible materials are mixed together, chiefly to make products that benefit from the properties of more than one raw material.

An example is seals for shower cabins, where the rigid part performs a structural function and the soft part ensures a good watertight seal.

Tràfilo is able to co-extrude up to 4 different materials simultaneously, enabling us to satisfy even our customers’ most unusual requests.

PRODUCTION CYCLE

We set up our production cycle on the basis that each customer has their own unique requests. We offer customised solutions, from the design to the choice of raw materials, from chemical analysis to identification of the most suitable process, to maximise the benefits to the customer.
Throughout the whole process, we place our know how in your hands.

The technical project of the extruded material begins with an evaluation of the uses to which they will be created for.
We make extruded plastics for any application requiring optimal performance.
We don’t follow standard processes in the strict sense of the term; every process is carried out according to specific requirements. Only then the production become optimised and automated. In this way we can guarantee the repetition of every production cycle.

Most extruded plastic products are packed directly on the production line in order to keep them intact.

In many cases our products have non-standard packaging.
In this way we ensure that the products preserve the characteristics defined during the design phase.

THE PRODUCTION PLANT

Tràfilo pays great attention to the design, manufacture and maintenance of all its equipment.
Our operatives and technical office ensure that all required tolerances are observed during the production phase. Using non-empirical tests we perform dimensional and functional checks, to verify conformance we simulate real conditions.
Every profile is manufactured with the utmost thoroughness.

SPECIAL PRODUCTION RUNS

We offer our customers various types of special production.
Co-extrusion with: magnets, sheet metal, nylon line and steel wire.
Finishing with: wood veneers and chrome paint.
